Tambour doors have been used in furniture for centuries. The flexible door panels are made by glueing shaped sticks to a canvas backing. As the doors open, the panels slide into a cavity inside the cabinet allowing the contents to be exposed without doors protruding into the room. This cabinet style is suited to any room in the house where space is limited or when it is useful to have the doors open for extended times. Cabinet interiors can be customized with shelves or drawers to function as a sideboard, bar or media cabinet.
